MPTC Handgun/Revolver Certification: This course is designed to give active duty officers the required range time and qualification as mandated by the MPTC. This course is a 50 round qualification course and MPTC approved targets are used. Officers need to supply ammunition, duty gear, ballistic vests, eye and ear protection.  This course gets away from " show up fire 50 rounds and go home".  Officers are expected to come prepared to train for realistic encounters. This course has multiple targets, traditional shooting positions, non-traditional shooting postions, low light/ strobe light use, shoot don't shoot scenarios.  Officers should come motivated and expected to participate in some level of physical exercise.  When the officers are finished with the course they are re-qualified via MPTC standards.  Course Fee: $10 per person, $150.00 Instructors fee per instructor.
   

MPTC Shotgun Certification: This course is designed to give active duty officers the required range time and qualification as mandated by the MPTC for Shotgun.  This course is a 20 qualification course that consist of 10 rounds .00 buck shot and 10 rounds slug.  Officers will be required to bring ammunition, ballistic vests, duty gear, ear and eye protection.  This course covers the use of shotguns in law enforcement and deployment options.  Officers should come motivated and are expected to participate in some level of physical exercise.  When the officers are finsihed with the course they are re-qualified via MPTC standards.  Course Fee: $10 per person, $150.00 Instructors fee per instructor.


MPTC Patrol Rifle Certification: This course is designed to give active duty officers the required range time and qualification as mandated by the MPTC for Patrol Rifles.  This course is a 20 round course of fire with distance of 50 yards to start from and works down to the 15 yard line.  This course will address malfunctions, transistion to handgun, carry techniques, deployment and scenarios.  Officer are required to provide ammunition, ballistic vests, duty gear, ear and eye protection, slings.  Officers should come motivated and are expected to participate in some level of physical exercise.  When this course is completed the officers will be re-qualified via MPTC standards.
Course Fee: $10 per person, $150.00 Instructors fee per instructor.

Local departmets are encouraged to apply and have the documentation provided by Upper Hand Home Defense Options.  All records of re-certification are kept on file for each department and each officer. Should the need for them ever arise contact Upper Hand Home Defense Options. The Chief of Police will aslo recieve copies of the re-qualified officers and a schedule of the type of training provided .
